A Little About Me

I am a mom of two “almost” grown boys (20 & 17 year olds). I am blessed to have them both still here with me still, although the days are counting down when they will be leaving the nest. Then it will be just me and my love of 25 years, alone together again.

My Shop & What I Do

I have been a Graphic Designer for just about 7 years, and what a lot of you probably don’t know about me is that I was an Interior Designer before that. I have a real love of color and texture, and love mixing the two elements together in my work and in treasuries on Etsy. I have been creative all my life, and have done just about every craft out there known to man. I have an attic full of supplies and half-started projects to prove it!

In my shop you’ll find my latest love, graphic design. I designed professionally, creating the artwork you see on billboards for about 6 years. I have also been a “professional amateur” photographer for as long as I can remember. I love taking images, and manipulating them into something great. Or sometimes, I use my images as a base for an illustration. In my Etsy shop, I do freelance graphic design work, and offer fine art prints, ACEOs & greeting cards.

My Challenge:

I’m very inspired on this Earth Day, by the green movement. Using something from nature or something recycled, create something new and interesting. When you’re done, come back here and post a picture of your creation, as well as a picture of the original object. (Please take a look at the last image of my featured print, to see how it started out). 16x20 Driftwood Tile

You will have two weeks to finish this challenge. At that time I will select a winner. The winner will receive any ACEO or single Photo Card of their choice from my shop. Have fun!

So I didn't technically make it for this challenge, but I'm going to submit the recycled notebook I made last week. I'm sorry I don't really have pictures of the original item I'm recycling, but you can see it in the final product - I took pages that were printed on and some old cardboard (plus some new papers too) and made them into a notebook! I love using these as a sketchbook / scrapbook / collage book. The fun pages with print / figures are quite inspirational.

Way ro go Uli!!! I remember when you listed that last week, and that's okay, it's recycled...COOL!!!

Can't wait to see what you are making dorana! (I'm sitting in my comfy new chair & ottoman using my son's laptop, still feelin yucky, I go to the doctor tomorrow, probably another stupid sinus infection)
