Hello, I'm new! My name is Melissa and I have an Etsy shop dedicated to weddings - specifically jewelry for bridal parties and chalkboard hearts!

When I'm not busy running around campus and writing papers (I'm an undergrad in english education and political science), I love to make pretty little things. I officially opened up my etsy shop on Jan. 28, 2011 for for 'fun', but! I'm also savin' up to head West and move to San Francisco in a year, where I want to work as a teacher. Enjoy!

I wanted to post this to make others aware of what can happen. This is what I wrote in a thread----I think I am going to cry, I am having some business problems, a year ago another etsy helped me to get a domain name which was all cool. Well it expired after a year and I went to renew it and this is what the seller sent to me.
I do want you to know that I have been working on this...unfortunately I have hit a snag that I have been trying to iron out with the registrar...since it expired and I didn't get their auto-notice like I usually do - they are telling me it's a $200 fee to re-register it. That's obviously ridiculous...but unfortunately that company has ultimate control over the name. (Since all this has happened, I have transferred every single domain I work with to another company, as it's been a big blow-up.)

the problem is they say they won't release it

My problem is besides having some of my business things with bellacosaart.com , I have established a foot print all over the interenet under that name. When I googled the other day I had pages of me coming up in search, I do not want to change it. This is really scarey for me. Any ideas?

LESSON Do not let your web domains expire, they will take it from you, I wouldn't of but because of lack of experience I left it in someone elses hands.

If anyone has any suggestions, please write me.
